     You may want to check the vol history in adsm.  These tapes sound like
     they may be db backups (incrementals or full), in which case ADSM
     won't know about them thru and 'q vol' or 'q libv' type commands.

Under MVS 5.2, with CA7 as Tape Manager, an exit is used to free tapes
returned to scratch pool by ADSM. The tapes has to be declared as EDM
managed in CA7 (automatically done using the Creation Jobname ADSM in
CA7).
