I am trying to use ADSM and its scheduler to backup an NT system and the SAP
R/3 database running on it.

I created a .bat file with dsmc selective .... commands and the appropriate
SAP backup and archive commands and scheduled this. The scheduler said it
had run but nothing happened (i.e., the command did *not* execute).

Further investigation led me to the PRE/POSTSCHEDULECMD options. I changed
my schedule from a command schedule to a selective schedule and specified
the name of my known, working SAP backup/archive .bat file but, while the
selective part of the schedule worked, the SAP part did not.

How do I get a non-ADSM command to run under control of the ADSM central
scheduler. The documentation states that it can be done but so far I cannot
make it work.

For the record:
I am running the scheduler service under the system account
I successfully tested all the commands outside the ADSM environment to
verify there are no internal problems
I have tried the POSTSCHEDULECMD option both in the dsm.opt file and in the
client override box of the admin client.

What do I try next? My ultimate objective is to have three systems (all
with SAP databases) automatically backed up under control of one single,
central server's schedule.
