I still do run into the question simply when should I go ahead and discard=vol
of my tapes so I can reuse them. Because of the fact that I keep one copy of ac
tive and inactive files for only 30 days and I am running out of tape so fast
because We do have so many images in a production enviorment that changes a lot
meaning lots of files being saved one or two days then deleted next days .
I do like to recycle my tapes and run incremental backup from first tape
that I started but I am worried that maybe there is a better strategy to do thi
s . Can anyone guide me basically what is the best way to do this or is this th
e right step to take without losing any data bearing in mind that I have guaran
tteed only 30 days backup of my files to my managers . any help appreciated.
