Robert...yes, this can be done...on the DEFINE LIBRARY command, use
LIBTYPE=EXTERNAL parameter.  You will also need to specify the
EXTERNALMANAGER=pathname parameter to tell ADSM the pathname to talk with
the external library manager for tape mounts, dismounts and delete
volume operations.

Is it possible, for ADSM,  to use a mount exit and external tape management
systems on platforms other than VM or MVS too ? Specifically I am interested
in AIX.
