Hello,

We have a MAC user who is running system 7.5.3, system update 2.0, and
Open
Transport 1.1.1. and has ADSM 2.1.06 Scheduler and Backup both
running in
3 megs. The server is ADSM for MVS 2.1.05. He is able to do manual
backup
without a problem but he is having a problem with scheduled backup.
 He is
scheduled for an evening backup and finds his MAC frozen when he comes
in
the morning and all he can do to get going is just reboot. He has all
other
applications closed and all he has left running is the ADSM scheduler
when
this problem happens. The following is listed in the error log and
schedule log:

error log:

02/25/1997 22:26:07 ANS6604S NULL character found in the name of
folder/file ?.

02/25/1997 22:26:40 ANS4228E Sending of object 'Thwaites's
place:Communications:Anarchie-150:' failed

schedule log:

place:Communications:Anarchie-150:' failed
02/25/1997 22:26:40 Active object not found

He has deleted this last file from his hard drive and expire seems to
have a
problem dealing with this file. It is not clear to me why this is so
and
how to correct this problem. Server expritation of backup files has
been
running ok today and all this week. On the server log there is a
message
which says that this node has been idle for more than 15 minutes and
has
been terminated at 22:35:39 and there is no unusual server activity
listed
in the log at around 22:00. Any help is greatly appreciated.
