It's a Smash Hit!....On February 12, 1997 the Storage Systems Division
SW Marketing Center hosted the first in its comprehensive series of
Customer Teleconferences for 1997. The session was devoted to ADSM &
real experiences of customers who implemented ADSM to meet their storage
management challenges. Our award winning cast featured Rob Frankel as
session moderator, who was joined by I.T. Executives from Kemper Ins
and the University of Wisconsin. Over 900 people participated from across
the U.S. and Canada and the Q&A sessions were lively and informative!
We have received over 90 requests for more information about ADSM. Audio
tapes and presentation materials are available by calling 1-800-813-5795
(or 1-719-386-0025) and requesting session 287272.

The next Call in our Series will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 1997.
It is entitled "Using ADSM to Back Up Databases". It is an update of
our most popular call of 1996. Please have your customers register
early for this call, as we anticipate it will be heavily enrolled.

Session Abstract:
In this call you will learn how IBM's ADSTAR Distributed Storage
Manager (ADSM) can be used to back up workstation databases such
as Oracle, Sybase, Informix, DB2/6000, DB2/2, DB2 Parallel
Edition, SAP R/3, and Lotus Notes. ADSM provides online backup
for all these key database products! We will also discuss using
ADSM to back up Microsoft SQL/Server and Mail/Exchange files.

ADSM is an enterprise-wide solution integrating unattended
backup and archive with storage management and powerful disaster
recovery planning functions. This session was our most popular
event of 1996.

About the Speaker:

Cyndie Behrens is from IBM's International Technical Support
Organization (ITSO), the group responsible for our popular
technical manuals called Redbooks. Ms. Behrens and a team of
IBM ADSM and database specialists have written several widely
acclaimed Redbooks including "Using ADSM to Back Up Databases",
and "Using ADSM to Back Up Lotus Notes".

Audience:

This session will be of most interest to enterprises that have
databases as indicated above that need backup/recovery and
archive services. It is intended for managers and technical
staff (such as Database Administrators) responsible for
management of distributed database systems.
