Hi,

Coincidently for the last week we have not been getting a clean backup on
an HP-UX 10 client (this client has been in production for many months).
In midstream we get msg ANS4017E, the backup goes to sleep and restarts
after 1 minute (I've got RETRYPeriod=1 and MAXCNDRetries=9999 to get
through a complete backup). The dsmerror.log has the below messages. Any
ideas? Is this client related, network traffic related? I changed the
connection from ethernet to T/R and still get the failure.

TcpFlush: Error 32 sending data on Tcp/Ip socket 4.

sessSendVerb: Error sending Verb, rc: -50

TcpFlush: Error 32 sending data on Tcp/Ip socket 4.

TcpFlush: Error 9 sending data on Tcp/Ip socket 4294967295.

sessSendVerb: Error sending Verb, rc: -50

ANS4017E Session rejected: TCP/IP connection failure

Thanks for any help.

We set up a new Novell client yesterday that backs up a little, then
gets the following error. It's not doing a particularly large file
when it gets the error, seems to be random. Each time, the socket
number listed on the Errors 60 and 32 is different, but the Error 4
line socket number is consistent. We have CommTimeout set to 2000.
The server is MVS.

TcpFlush: Error 60 sending data on Tcp/Ip socket 609332.
sessSendVerb: Error sending Verb, rc: -50
TcpFlush: Error 32 sending data on Tcp/Ip socket 609332.
TcpFlush: Error 4 sending data on Tcp/Ip socket 4294967295.
sessSendVerb: Error sending Verb, rc: -50
ANS4017E Session rejected: TCP/IP connection failure

Has anyone seen this? Any ideas?
Thanks!
