     Dear Dave:

As Janet Curtis said recently, mostly I just lurk. But this note
     demands a response.

You can do anything that you want to do - but don't you dare stop
     participating in this listserver.

I consider it a fundamental element in my strategy to provide world
class backup service to our university campus. We are using virtually
every client type available for ADSM. I cannot imagine how else I
could gain access to the expertise - in IBM and around the world -
     that this listserver provides.

Back in the old days (circa 1966 - IBM 7040) and until not so long ago
a common activity around the coffee pot was to poke fun at IBM. Not
that it mattered much because no one was listening. "Have you heard
the one about IBM software . . ." Gales of laughter.

But you are listening, and you are acting. And despite the
intemperance of some who should have been taught better manners (and
probably were), you are responding with polite and informative
answers. I am still amazed that it is actually possible to get this
close to IBM developers. But I know a lot about computers and the
computer business. Perhaps those who blast off the flame mails don't
realize what a special thing we have here. Nora Denzel and each
person in her organization I have met are real people, and real pros.

Keep up the good work. And thanks.

Eric R. Lewis, Ph. D. (Computer Science)
     Systems Management Technology (DoIT)

This post is disappointing in light of the many overtime hours that ADSM
developers do devote to this list and all the function that we have
worked to deliver even between releases and versions. I sure hope that
our participation on this list is a little bit more obvious to others.
