Don't sell the ADSM DB backup process short - it does a good job.

Has anyone simplified the disaster recovery backup scheme for ADSM
to use (1) FDRABR or DFDSS volume backups and (2) Copy Storage pools

I just want the capability to restore my ADSM database, other ADSM disk
files,
and the data files from the latest weekly backups (that would be offsite).
Then bring back my offsite Copy pool tapes and I think I would be back in
business????

Would this scenario work????

1. FDRABR restore the Database, Recovery log, Volume History Backup File,
Device Config Backup File, disk Storage Pools,
and Server Options file (using my latest offsite FDRABR volume
backups).

2. Retrieve the Copy Storage Tapes from offsite.
     NOTE:
I was thinking of setting up a different devclass for the Copy pool
tapes so that I could
assign a different high level datasetname prefix. This would allow me
to config my
tape management system to direct all Copy Pool tapes to offsite
location???

I'm new to ADSM....so I'm not sure this would work????

Anyone have a simpler solution???

Thanks,
 Dave
