Tom,
I did not understand the distinction you were making. My understanding is
that there is no difference between specifying a domain of ALL-LOCAL and not
specifying a DOMAIN at all. I.e., if you don't specify a domain, it defaults
to ALL-LOCAL, and the default (ALL-LOCAL) does not back up /tmp.
This understanding was based on the following text on page 101:
1) If you do not specify file systems with the DOMAIN option in your client
user options file, the default is all locally mounted file systems except
/tmp.
2) The default value for this option (domain) is ALL-LOCAL, which specifies
that all local file systems are to be backed up.
I guess it would be clearer if item #2 included the words "except /tmp", but
even as worded I think you can arrive at a correct conclusion after careful
logic analysis of the above text. ;)
