Re: Backing up Oracle 7.3 databases on raw devices

     We have some IBM and ISSC people in here now, and they have been told,
     in no uncertain terms, that 7.3 with obackup will not work with ADSM.
     I haven't heard of any who have, either.

Our DBAs say that neither SQL Backtrack nor Oracle Enterprise Backup
(obackup?) will work with ADSM for Oracle 7.3.  It's supposed to be ready in
a month or so for Oracle's backup took, while SQL Backtrack has been
promising the fix since September.  Backing up Oracle on raw devices has
been discussed here some, but I don't recall anyone but me mentioning the
problems of doing it with version 7.3 of Oracle.

Is anyone else doing this?  If so, how?
