ADSM uses the Lotus Notes API (as anyone else could) to search the documents
within
databases. ADSM treats a database the same as it does a disk drive (file
space) and treats
each document the same as a file. Therefore, ADSM maintains a database entry
for each
document, which are compared to the contents on subsequent backups.
