Hello ADSMers,

Does anyone know exactly how ADSM determines when to remove a copy based on the
RETO parameter? Is it based on the file modification date, the date the file was
last backed up by ADSM or the date that ADSM detects that the file no longer
exists on the client?

For example, based on the following assumptions:

  RETV = 30 and RETO = 30 (days)
  daily incremental backup & inventory expiration
  file, foo, with modification date of 10/1/96, selectively backed up today,
    10/23/96.
  file, foo, erased on client on 10/29/96.

Question is when does ADSM actually remove copy of foo?

   11/1  - 30 days after modification date
   11/23 - 30 days after last backup date
   11/29 - 30 days after first detecting the file no longer exists on client
