Hi all -
I'm running ADSM v2 on MVS. We backup the storage pools at 6 am,
and backup the database at 9 am. At 10 am we run queries to be
shipped offsite (Q DB, VOL, STG, etc) At 10 am we also backup the
volume history, device config and disklog files for the whole thing
to go offsite at noon. My question is, I may have to start using
a backup of the volume history (and those other 2) files at 5 am.
And the queries would be from 5 am also. I'm wondering, in the
event of a disaster, what would be the impact of the volume history
and queries being older by 5 hours. Would I be able to look at the
started task log (assuming it has also been backed up) and figure out
the volsers written to during the most current storage pool and data-
base backups, so that we could get by, even if the queries and volhist
are a little old? How important are those to recovery in the event
of a disaster?
