For the record, cross client restore between Intel platforms (DOS, OS/2,
NT, and Win 95) with the exception of Netware is definitely supported.

File data, date and time, standard attributes (r/o, archive, hidden/system)
are preserved during cross client restore.

Obviously platform specific attributes such as ACL's or EA data are not
preserved during cross client restore, and long file names are truncated
when restored to a target filesystem which does not support long filenames.

Cross client restore is only available in version 2 clients and should only
be used to restore data which was backed up by other version 2 clients
(we have seen some problems doing cross client restore of data backed up
by version 1 clients).
