We have a RS/6000 with AIX4.1.2. I have reinstalled ADSMserver
v2.1.0.7 with the v2.1.5.6 version.

Followed procedure:
I have made an dump db before installing and kept the *dsm-files and
the volumehistory-, deviceconfig- and dsm.opt-files in a save place.
In my old configuration I had renamed the default dsmfiles
db.dsm and log.dsm to db01.dsm and log01.dsm.
I  removed the software product adsmserv and installed the v2.1.5.6
from scratch instead of installing the new version with -F (force) option
on top of the old version (which was the advised method!).
Also I have no fresh mksysb to return too....

This resulted in an adsmserver which configured itself with a newly
created db.dsm and log.dsm and with no knowledge of the old database
and log. I changed the db- and logname in dsmserv.dsk to my old
preserved db- and logfilenames, but when I startup the dsmserv I get
the message:

10/01/96 20:09:05 [ADSM] Starting Server
Explanation (open error): No such file or directory
Explanation (open error): No such file or directory
ANR7800I DSMSERV generated at 11:49:02 on Jan 19 1996.

Is there any hope for me on getting my old db-info back?
If I cannot use my old databasefiles can I at least restore my
dumpdb or are the dump db commands in the two versions not
compatible?
