The System32 Config directory contains the system registry.

These files are backed up indirectly via registry backup and
are always staged off into the ADSM.SYS directory on the NT
System partition before being sent to the ADSM server.

After you've done your restore from your alternate partition
to the production partition you should copy these files directly
into the production partitions System32 directory before
booting the restored partition.

So if C: is the system partition you have restored from your
alternate partition, copy the following directories

   c:/adsm.sys/registry/ntMachineName/machine/*.*
   c:/adsm.sys/registry/ntMachineName/Users/UserName/*.*

to the c:/winnt35/system32/config directory before rebooting the
restored partition.

Note that ntMachineName is the NT machine name and UserName is the
name of the user which performed the backups on the partition
being restored (there could be more than one).

After rebooting the domain controller should be resynced with the
primary.

We have tested the above procedure by erasing an entire domain
controller partition and restoring it, and it does work.

Hope this helps ....
