Since you are going to a device with diferrent geometry a dsmfmt will be
required.  Hence you must back
up your database, format it  and reload it.

I would think that if you followed the procedure in Chapter 14 concerning
the recovery of your
database that it would work.  That is do a:

dsmserv dumpdb
backup your devconfig files just for luck
bring down adsm
dsmfmt your 3390
dsmserv loaddb
start the server
dsmserv auditdb

In my book these steps are outlines on page 22 of the 00 versionf of the
Admin Guide Manual.
