I have been looking at the ADSM clients I have just inherited responsibility
for and have discovered that ADSM puts a variety of configuration and log
files in /usr/lpp/adsm/bin. According to the Info Explorer article on file
systems "files that can be shared by machines of the same hardware
architecture are located in the /usr file system" and "variable per-client
files, for example, spool and mail files, are located in the /var file
system". Putting configuration and log files in /usr, as ADSM does,
clearly violates the policy stated in the article. Can this sort of
thing be APARed?
