How about doing a command line type update to an existing schedule that
would make it kick off in x number of
minutes. It is still 'scheduled' but only when you do a dsmadmc bacth
update which you might be able
to have a MVS scheduler generate for you dependent on certain conditions.
The next trick would be to
recycle your client scheduler to check the server scheduler. If the client
is AIX and you have a file
transfer pgm on your system you could send a file down to the RS6000 and
have a cron job checking for
the presence of a file. When that file gets there invoke the cron.sh script
that is available that brings
down the client scheduler and restarts it. The file transfer program that I
am familiar with and does
work in this way is XCOM.
