Hello there.

We are running ADSM 2.1 on an AIX 4.1 platform. We have 3590 drives.

I received the above message this morning for one of our magstar drive.
To avoid the performance penality linked to the lost VCR, we have moved the
incriminated tape contents to another volume, then deleted the "bad" volume
from ADSM.

Here is my question.

Considering the price of a magstar volume, I would like to re-condition and
reuse the volume that was reported faulty.

What can I do? I suppose that running again dsmlabel on the volume will not
have any effect on the VCR. Is there any program that will redefine it
properly?

Any help or info would be appreciated.
