If you are moving from Version 1 to Version 2, you do not want to do an
"install." You want to do an "upgradedb." Don't format your datasets
or you will lose data. Read the Migrating to the ADSM Version 1 Server
section in the "Installing Server..." book.

You don't have to get them back into the data base. They will stay there
if you do an upgradedb.

The entire devconfig file gets refreshed anytime you define or change.
It will flush out all the definitions that are found in the database, not
just the one you add or change. The same is true for the volume history
file. It will blast out all of the entries that it finds in the
volume history data base table. You can also refresh these files with
the BACKUP DEVCONFIG and BACKUP VOLHIST command.
