Just a quick guess but is the UID# the same on both AIX boxes.... ? I
would doubt that in a unix environment ADSM would even look at the
     text user id...
     later

We've recently been doing disaster recovery drills, and I have run across an
opportunity.
At the disaster recovery site, all of the retrieved files are incorrectly
given root ownership. On the original box the ownerships are correctly
restored. On both the original and DR site boxes, the OS is AIX 4.1 on an
R30, ADSM server at 2.1.7, ADSM client at 2.1.0.1, subdir=yes, same
hostnames, but different IP addresses. At the DR site I am having to work
from a 3151, so I am using dsmc. At home the retrieves are being done using
dsm. Should the difference in IP addresses account for the problem,
although the hostnames/node names are the same?

Also, is there a way from dsmc to retrieve multiple filesystems with a
single command? I've had to resort to writing a shell script with multiple
commands and a clear text password.

Thanks for any suggestions.
