The best one is to not do it at all, but that may not be possible.

That's assuming that you have a hostile client environment.

Q OCC is extremely useful.

This sounds a bit anal, however it is probably one of the better
methodologies I have heard.  I always try to give personal service to
my customers (clients) and I believe in working together, not against.

ADSM slows down when many objects are backed up.  It does not slow down
based upon the size of data.  I would charge by the object, period.  If
someone wants to ZIP everything together and send one huge zipfile everynight
then that would be great!  Queries and restores would be lightning quick
and the system would run so well.  ADSM does not have problems with 1GB+
files at all.

The fairest way is not to charge. :-)
