Norm...

1. MAKE SURE YOU DO THE DUMP DB WITH THE CONSISTENT=YES option...this
will allow you to NOT have to perform the AUDITDB on recovery.
You should be able to bring this onto a different aix machine.

2. If the configuration of the new machine is truly the same
(especially all your devclass definitions...ie, same tape drive/
library model types, etc)...you should be able to bring your tape
volumes to the new server machine. You will probably need to do
AUDIT LIBRARY commands for each library to reset ADSM's inventory

3. The AUDIT DB does take a long time...but you should not have to
do it in this case....make sure you take a consistent dump of the
old database before the move (maybe more than one dump since you're
using 8mm tape ;-) ). The load db takes a little while but not
nearly as long as the auditdb!

4. I believe it is no problem to create a larger DB/log and
load the db into that...remember you need to do DSMSERV INSTALL
before you do the DSMSERV LOADDB...the install is where you allocate
your new (larger) volumes..

5. I would strongly recommend keeping up with the latest service
level for your server....if you're able to do that before the move...
it would probably be good.
