An evaluation copy of ADSM for AIX V2.1 is available
from the anonymous ftp server, index.storsys.ibm.com.
This evaluation copy of ADSM can be used with up to 10 AIX
clients and can be used for 60 days. After 60 days, you will
not be able to backup additional data.
To use the ADSM evaluation, logon to the anonymous ftp server,
and copy the code to your server. Follow the install instructions
that are provided. The evaluation code and install instructions
are in the following directory:
/adsm/eval/aix
The filenames for the ADSM for AIX V2.1 server and
the AIX client are:
aix.server.eval.smit - the ADSM for AIX server
aix.client.eval.smit - the AIX client
In the same directory, you will find a text file containing
instructions on how to install the evaluation copy of ADSM.
AIX.EVAL.README - install instructions (use upper case)
A word of caution - due to the size of these files, the download
process may take a while, depending on network traffic, data
transfer rates, etc.
The ADSM for AIX evaluation code will also be available on
CD-ROM. The ADSM Multimedia Preview and Evaluation CD-ROM,
will be available in early December. This CD-ROM will include
this same evaluation code, plus additional items such as the
ADSM Preview, and softcopy books in both BookManager and DynaText
formats. The CD will be orderable from the ADSM Literature
Fulfillment Center, for free, when the CD is available.
