I believe that ADSM checks for one or more of the following criteria when
determining whether a file has changed:
modification date
modification time
file size
The archive bit is not used.
In the UNIX environment, I think that ADSM also considers changes in the
owner or permissions.
Other factors come into play as well, including:
Whether the file is excluded in the INCLUDE/EXCLUDE options
Whether the minimum number of days between backups (FREQUENCY setting
in the management class) has passed.
