Good luck and keep us posted!  I hope you are in frequent contact
with IBM about this.

One problem I see is with collocation.  If you use it, then you will need
at least 35k of tapes.  If you plan to use a robotic tape system, then
you need 35k slots.  If you don't use collocation you should need fewer
tapes and slots, but the potential exists for very long restores if the
active files for a node end up on many tapes after a year or two of
incremental backups.

I am not using collocation. I have nearly 800 nodes now.  To get around
this problem I have recently submitted a requirement to both Guide and
Share to enhance ADSM.  I want the ability to do 'move data by node' to
bring together the files for a node just prior to a full restore (I
expect that the pc support people will tell me when they start replacing
a dead disk).  This way I get the benefit of collocation without the
daily cost.

If you think this enhancement would be useful to you, please let IBM know.
