I have been searching the list's archives for help on this.  There is
much discussion of releasing tapes for re-use on VM, but nothing on MVS.

     We run ADSM on MVS.  We had set up a tape pool of scratch tapes
with a "forever" expiration date.  A great deal of data has gone to
tape.  After a while, of course, tape migrations began, as we expected.
However, the empty tapes were not released to the pool.

     We do have some information in the Administrator's Guide about
writing a Deletion Exit.  Perhaps the problem is that I come from
an applications, rather than a systems, background.  From the infor-
mation supplied, I don't have any idea how to write a deletion exit.

     Can anyone help me out here?  TIA for any information you can
supply me.  In the meanwhile I have set reclaim to 100% - this cannot
last.
