I share your concern.  We did a restore here of some 30000+ files for
a unix filesystem, ~500+M and it took some 14hrs.  Not the speed I was
hoping for.  I've changed to collating my tape storage in hope of
paring at least an hour or so off from tape mount waits but, I'd hate to
have to do a restore on any of the 1+GB drives out there.  Taking
better than 24hours to restore a single multi-GB drive is a serious
problem for ADSM in the long run as storage continues to increase
so dramatically.  With 4GB drives generally available now and 10GB
coming down the pike, I'd expect this to become a more pressing issue
for ADSM in the _very_ near future.

Right now I just hope one of the big ones doesn't bomb.  I'd like to
know as well, we've got a couple of NT servers going to 20GB raid box
country so as soon as the NT client comes out, I'll be in the same
spot as you.
