There was a question awhile ago about moving data between servers
(VM to AIX??) via use of the database dump. If that question is still
unanswered, let me explain.

Database dumps can only be loaded onto ADSM servers running on the
same type of operating system (eg, VM to VM, AIX to AIX, ...).
Therefore, you will not be able to take a DB dump on ADSM/VM and
then DB load it into ADSM/6000.

Export is the only mechanism for moving backup/archive/server data
between ADSM servers. Another option obviously, is to just begin
new backups to the new ADSM server a couple clients at a time (to
avoid heavy network flooding). The old ADSM server would need
to continue to be available until backups from all clients have
been run to the new server. Yet another option would be to perform
exports on subsets of the old server (eg, a couple clients at a time).
Doing this, you should be able to keep the export runtimes to
manageable times.
