Has anyone come across this problem before. On the client, we
are using FTP Software's PC TCP. Thanks for any suggestions.

Subject: Re: Dos Client comm. timeout
I installed and tested ADSM for DOS and was able to restore large (>
1.5MB) files with no problem. I went back and tried ADSM for Windows
again. This time with TCPBuffsize increased from 8 to 16 and still
the same problem. I cannot restore files > 13KB.
The readme file for the DOS client had the following: However, I
don't think this applies to me because I am not using smartdrv (also
not using ramdisk). "When using smartdrv.exe with the \DOUBLE
option, the ADSM Backup clients using IBM TCP/IP 2.1 might hang
periodically during restore/retrieve, especially when
restoring/retrieving large amounts of data. If you discover that
this happens, disable the double buffering option of smartdrv.exe.
This is a known IBM TCP/IP 2.1 for DOS problem."
I don't think my problem is caused by timing out. I get the message
"TCP/IP Communications failure" almost immediately after issuing the
restore.
