More recent versions of WDSF do have the ability to place timestamps in
the VM console. IBM added a feature allowing you to put a
TIMESTAMP YES|NO option in the DSSERV OPTIONS file. I know, 'cause I'm the
one who opened the WDSF APAR asking that it be put in. Apparently,
the ADSM developers didn't carry it forward, or it's undocumented.
It's still quite useful in the VM environment. I haven't pursued this
yet with IBM as we've got bigger fish to fry right now: WDSF to
ADSM conversion. If anyone wants to take this up officially, please
feel free. I've appended a note I put on VMSHARE awhile ago which contains
more details.

Regards to all.

==========
VM54411
Code was added to display timestamp messages
   on most console log messages. They will not be displayed on all
   messages put out by the WDSF server.
   An option was added to the DSSERV OPTIONS file called timestamp.
   THe default is no and has to be changed to yes to enable this
   function.
