HELP! I'm running ADSM/VM ...
I think I want to do something simple but I'm now up to 6 commands I need to do
and still counting.
The Problem: disk area for user data is relatively small. Consequently new
users upon doing their first incremental 'flush' everyone else off to tape.
Solution: I would like to have new users 1st backup to go to a different
staging disk and then to common tapepool. By some magical means after the user
has apparently backed up everything the first time I will switch them
to the 'normal' (dare I say STANDARD!) pool for true incremental.
So I need a different DOMAIN, MGMTCLASS, COPY POLICY, COPY GROUP, Poolname,
etc ...
BUT I want the data to end up on the same pool of tapes as the STANDARD stuff.
I'm told (in class) that I can do this. When registering the user just specify
a different policy domain. Then at some time switch them to STANDARD.
Does anyone have the sequence of commands to setup a this chain of events???
Do I need to define new everything's from Domain all the way down?
So I guess the question is: how can I point a user to a different backup pool
and then point them back and still make all their data available to them when
requested.
thanks .. joe.f.
