is this true for tsm running on z/os licensing does not seem to have cought up with the new model) you should be able to have as many node definitions as you want. Retired nodes have 0 processors and

I can't confirm for z/os, however I have previously checked up about VMWare. A 4way server running VMWare ESX required 4 TSM licenses, regardless of how many virtual machines (TSM nodes) it hosted. i

Just a thought: Restore the files to another server, run a backup, whack the files. Then your standard retention period for that server/directory as defined in your mgt class will apply. For instance

Given that TSM is licensed by processor now and not node (the internal licensing does not seem to have cought up with the new model) you should be able to have as many node definitions as you want. R
