Yes, that is not surprising. Whenever you move a tape or place it in a slot yourself, you should run a TSM AUDIT LIBRARY command. That tells TSM to rescan the library and update the info about which

Do a "q libvol" and that should show where TSM thinks that tape is. Also could probably do "q actlog" for time period when you tried restore and messages probably will indicate where TSM is trying to

Do a checkout libv libname volser rem=no checkl=no. This will checkout the tape and it will no longer be in the q libv output. After that, do a checkin libv libname search=yes checkin=priv checkl=bar
