- I've never tested any numbers on which filesystem best suits a VFS device. Personally, I use ext3, but I would certainly be interested in some empirical analysis of this topic. Dustin -- Open Source

- Hi, normally we use reiserfs on all of our servers. The only reason we decided to use ext3 for the vtapes is that it took several minutes to mount a big (mine is 12 TB) parition with reiserfs. Regard

- We are using zfs filesystem running Solaris on Sparc HW and it's working well, x64 HW is an option for Solaris as well. Go for it. -- GG
