No that's not it.. it would work regardless. Doublecheck what domain the node is assigned to and verify it is backing up with the management class and therefore stgpool you are thinking it should be.

I would imagine it should be fine installing it afterwards.. It should just dump various "*.lic" files into the TSM server directory. The license files are only available off the base cd.. i.e. 5.1.0
