- sorry - its not the LANG - Variable as I thought, but you may get the files being backed up if you set instead the LC_CTYPE Variable for example to en_US. This works for Umlaut-Files on a Suse 7.1 /

- Joachim, we tried this today on a very old Linux client (3.1.0.1) and the ümläüt-test worked fine, no skips. In our optfile there was no language set, the environment had "RC_LANG" set to "german". T
