Hello Everyone! I have the volume N00043 that I have sent to the vault by using the move media command. I will be having a DR test and will be taking the tape(s) to the DR site. The volume is read-on

After you mount this, you do not need to do any updates because you already did that(update the volume to readonly). Once the tape access is offsite, and if you update access to readonly the state of

Hi! I was just wondering, the access of the tape is read-only and not offsite when I run the move media command. Do I then have to update the tape to offsite or can I just leave it as read-only? This

Joni, My first question is are you licensed for the "Extended Edition" of TSM, because it includes DRM support which will make your life much easier when it comes to managing off site tapes and doing

Backupsets are not considered DRMEDIA by DRM. You can't use MOVE MEDIA on them either because they do not belong to a storage pool. You would have to write your own scripts to look for the backupset

Hi Bill! I have ACSLS, so I guess I'll have to eject the tapes through that software method, but how do I know when they have expired and need to be brought back onsite? It's a little confusing becau

Okay.. I see that you are using move media command, not move drmedia. Here's my finding. Before move media volume Status=full, Access=READ/WRITE, State=Mountable After move media(defult) Status=Full,

I am sensing some major confusion here. The backupset is a separate tape that contains its own copy of the current active data with a database up front to locate files. The tape can be restored with

NDMP backups cannot have copy storage pools, so I can't use move drmedia for this scenerio. I've been using move media, but my confusion is concerning when I get to the DR site. Do I have to update t
