What do the filenames in "d:\mssql7\data\" look like? Are they of the form "filename.ext" ? If so, I don't believe you're exclude statement covers those files. You will probably also need the followi

Try what somebody else suggested to me... I'm trying it tonight. This person mentioned that the double quotes around the statements make all the difference. ex. EXCLUDE "C:\PAGEFILE.SYS" FYI Johnny A

Depends upon special characters having to be in quotes, or Escaped. But do you have to wait? Does your command line client allow you to do 'q inclexcl' to validate your Include-Exclude list now? Ric

You do _not_ need to use the *.* syntax. If you change the option file, you must stop and restart the scheduler (and dsm/dsmc) to get it to re-read the options.

Couple of things to keep in mind, ADSM reads the inc/exc list from the bottom up and stops on the first match, if no match is found it assumes the file should be backed up. Generally a good layout fo
