We are using adsm v.3 with disk and tape storage pool. When our disk pool is nearly at high threshold and multiple backup schedules are starting, our disk pool likes to overflow because the migration

Roger, We flush our disk pools daily by setting the hi & low parameters to 0 during the late afternoon and then reverting back to standard settings prior to the start of the backup windows. This work

Yes setup a sched to update the disk storagepool to zero and a sched to reset it back . [ upd stg poolname hi=0 ] You can run these scheds prior to the backup schedules. You can increase the disk poo

You're on track Roger, migration is triggered by lowering the threshold, then resetting it to its original higher level (in my case 95%). One suggestion, don't lower it to 0%. I did this to trigger m

Yep! What I've done is I have two administrative schedules DISKPOOL_LOW and DISKPOOL_NORMAL. I set DISKPOOL_LOW (an upd stg diskpool high=10 low=0) to run about 1 hour after the last of the backups s

Thankx very much for your responses, but: my problem seems to be little challenging: In our shop ADSM is backing up 50 - 100 Gig per night (not examining, backing up!) using 12 Gig disk pool, and I n

I would find the money to buy another 100 gig of disk storage. You will probably spend more money trying to figure out ways to avoid the inevitable purchase of additional storage than the disk will c

Roger, Why have anything writing directly to tape ??? Why not set HIGHMIG=0 on the disk storage pool and have all MGMT Classes point to the disk storage pool, then you would not need to worry about c
