Hi, I've been using amanda for some years, but have just moved from Mandriva to Debian Etch. I have a Seagate STT-20000 IDE Travan tape, which is identified as nht0. MT and dd correctly address this

In the interests of getting to the bottom of this, do you think you could run an 'strace' the amcheck process? The results will be long, but if you can find the place where it calls open() on the tap
