- I believe you have to add an environment setting for "AdditionalLegalTrapCharacters" in either the netview.pre or netnmrc.pre file. Search the archives, you'll find several references. ______________

- Eduardo, Try editing the command as show below, the sed command should remove the \'s before sending.(Note: depending on your version of sed you may need to tweak this command) echo "The device $NVAT

- Eduardo, We put the following into all of our scripts to remove the '\' character host=`echo "$1" | sed "s:\\\\\\::g"` ip=`echo "$2" | sed "s:\\\\\\::g"` (Running 7.1.2 and 7.1.4FP02 (test) on AIX 43
