Hi, Ive seen similar problems. First LTO4 vs. LTO3 will require some tuning, Im thinking of data buffer and network buffer size, referring to  NBU tuning guide. You should have a look at adding those

Hi Ed Well the problem has "now gone" ! I got the same config, but last night the job completed in 4 hours dead! (Compared to 8 hours for the whole job to finish). I have HP LTO4 Drives in the SL500

Not at all Rusty :-) The disks are on a high speed HP EVA system, so I know they are not the problem. I am happy now that the backup has returned back to its "normal" speed, but I think alot of it do
