With < 6.0x you bprecover -r and you're pretty much all set; however, for 6.0 it also writes out a DR file, has anyone done recovery testing both WITH and WITHOUT the DR file? Justin. _______________

Haven't tested this either, but NBU certainly gives the impression that it *could* be done without the DR file. For the sake of discussion, here are the instructions that 6.0MP4 includes in an email

You have to have the DR File to recover from an 'online' catalog backup. Whether that means you use the DR file that is email/stored somewhere, or the method described by Robert. I have done a recove

I have done it with the DR file, but the catch is that you have to restore on the master with the same name. We wanted to restore to a different name, but were told by Symantec that it cant be done.

Gents; How are you sending your Catalog DR recovery file and report off-site? For example if your at Sungard testing, how do you retrieve your DR recovery file and report? Thanks Mike Kiles <mikekile

Our primary copy is saved at the DR site, and we backup that DR server using NetBackup. So, if we lose DR site, we can restore the DR FILE from NetBackup at the primary site. If we lose primary site,
