infact now i have tested for some files ...What i saw was there is an option in this PI application for making these files as read only or Writeable. And what i saw was that when i made it readonly ,

Hello Kurian, on Windows 2003 you could use VSS to make consistent backups of open files, but on Windows 2000 you should use savepnpc to stop the PI application before the backup and start it afterwa

As Preston already wrote, the GROUPNAME.res file will be created on the first start of the group after adding savepnpc to the backup command field of the client. On page 82 in the Administration Guid
