Assuming you have a license, you also have to load the storage node software on Server B. This might mean unloading the backup server software on the Server B first and then load the storage node sof

In any case, in a SAN environment, you cannot have 2 backup servers, even though they may be talking to different storage volume. Anyway, one solution given to me was to adjust the startup script (/e

A bit off topic, but why isn't it possible to have more than one backup server in a SAN? // Matts -- Lee Hwan Meng <hwanlee AT SOFTHOME DOT NET> skrev: > In any case, in a SAN environment, you cannot

Hi, you can have as many backup servers and tape libraries as you want in a SAN environment. I think what you really are talking about is sharing a tape library between backup servers, is that right

Well, not really. In a SAN environment, the backup server would complain if it discovers another storage node running nsrd daemon. The recurring irritating and unhelpful message goes like: <time> <ba

SAN is not relevant to this problem. The issue is that one NetWorker server cannot act as a storage node for another NetWorker server. NetWorker would behave the same way in a non-SAN environment. Yo

If you really need to share a tape library between two NetWorker servers, this is supported by the Legato AlphaStor software. tl In any case, in a SAN environment, you cannot have 2 backup servers, e

It's entirely possible - we have 3 - but they know nothing about one another. The problem is that you can't share a library between Datazones. A Data zone consistes of 1 NetWorker server and it's sto

Hold on. I'm confused. In an earlier mail, you mention that server A is a NetWorker server, but server B is a storage node. However, the NetWorker server is complaining that a NetWorker server cannot

Well, maybe I should explain further. Ideally, I would prefer _both_ server A and server B to be Networker servers _and_ storage nodes. server A will contain index to new backup jobs, while server B
