Thanks for the reply, Stan. Why is openmotif needed?? This wasn't a prerequisite in 7.3.2, and I didn't see anything of this nature listed in the software requirements section of the installation gui

Yes, I've seen this before and unless you need to run the ad-hoc backup/recover gui then you can just do the rpm install with the --nodeps flag and everything works just fine. -- Michael S. Baker Imp

Hi Andrew Motif is required for the GUI applications that are bundled in the client rpm. If you don't plan to use these, you can have rpm ignore the dependency with: rpm -ivh --nodeps . . . tl Thanks
