I would say no. You can also mirror the volume files, rsync them to a second server ... and then use the duplicated ones in the future provided the catalog matches the volumes. If it does not you can

With ZFS rsync won't really be a good deal, when zfs send/receive does the job a wee bit better. Still, has anyone in here tried to use storage with dedup capabilities for their disk backups? Vennli
